Addressing the Meraj-un-Nabi ﷺ Conference and the monthly Majlis-e-Khatm-as-Salat ‘ala an-Nabi ﷺ, held at the Central Secretariat of Minhaj-ul-Quran in Model Town, Lahore, MQI Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur warmly welcomed the respected religious scholars, eminent Sufi leaders, esteemed daughters of Islam, and all participants of the gathering.
He stated that this scholarly and spiritual sitting was being graced by Allama Muhammad Asim Makhdoom, Mohtamim Jamia Kubra Samanabad and Chairman of the All-Schools of Thought Ulema Board; Dr. Mufti Intikhab Noori, Member of the Council of Islamic Ideology; and Qari Khalid Mahmood. Extending a special welcome to the distinguished guests, he said that Minhaj-ul-Quran is their own home, and that the audience would greatly benefit from their enlightening discourse and knowledge.
Khurram Nawaz Gandapur said that on this blessed night, believers must seek the spiritual blessings and divine graces of the miracle of Meraj, pray for improvement and righteousness in the coming year, and engage in self-accountability for the past years, humbly supplicating before the Divine Court of Almighty Allah. He added that this night witnessed the manifestation of some of the greatest and most sacred divine signs of the Lord of the universe.
Referring to the two stages of the event of Meraj, he explained that the first journey was Isra, which took place from Masjid al-Haram to Masjid al-Aqsa, and the second was Meraj, during which the Beloved Prophet ﷺ was granted the unparalleled honor of divine meeting and vision. This was a unique and extraordinary journey—one without any precedent in the past and one that will never be replicated in the future. This miraculous event is a source of immense honor and pride for the entire Muslim Ummah.
The Secretary General of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, citing Allama Iqbal, said that Iqbal regarded the journey of Meraj as a manifestation of human dignity and exalted status. He remarked that until only a few decades ago, such a journey appeared impossible to human intellect, as science was incapable of conceiving it. However, today, scientific advancement, evolutionary developments, and ultra-fast innovations have compelled acknowledgment of this reality. The power of Allah Almighty encompasses all worlds and transcends the limits of human consciousness.
