Oslo, Norway: At the Mawlid Conference 2026 held in Oslo, Shaykh Hammad Mustafa al-Madani al-Qadri delivered a thought-provoking address on the meaning of identity—particularly Muslim identity in the 21st century.
In his lecture titled “In the Footsteps of the Prophetic Sirah: Guidance for the Homes, Hearts, and Societies”, he described Muslim identity as a living synthesis between the timeless teachings of the Holy Prophet ﷺ and the practical demands of the modern world.
He explained that true Muslim identity is neither found in isolation nor blind imitation, but in sincerely embodying the Prophetic Sirah in personal life while advancing with excellence in key areas of society.
Shaykh Hammad Mustafa Qadri further highlighted that people today live with two identities: one imposed by society and another consciously chosen. Drawing parallels with the mission of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he reminded the audience that just as the Prophet ﷺ lifted humanity from ignorance, it is now the responsibility of Muslims to remove the veils of violence, oppression, and indecency in contemporary times.
He called for replacing these challenges with Prophetic ideals grounded in spirituality, ethics, mercy, and moral clarity. The address deeply resonated with the audience, leaving a lasting impact by awakening a renewed sense of purpose, responsibility, and commitment to living the Prophetic message in today’s world.
