
Addressing an intellectual session organized by the College of Shariah and Islamic Sciences, Township Campus, to pay tribute to the educational and peace-promoting services of the founder and patron-in-chief of MQI, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, renowned poet, writer, and intellectual Farhat Abbas Shah stated that the day educational institutions begin to regard enrolled students as the future of the nation rather than as “customers,” society will be free from suicides, despair, and strikes.
Farhat Abbas Shah said that credit must be given to Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri for structuring his educational institutions in accordance with Islamic values and historical traditions. He added that by making moral and spiritual training an inseparable part of education, Minhaj-ul-Quran has rendered a great service to the nation. He also prayed for the long life of Shaykh-ul-Islam and for further increase in his divine blessings and success.
Addressing the gathering, Secretary-General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur said that
in the Subcontinent, the occupying British distorted the identity of Islam, and
after the creation of Pakistan, even our own people unknowingly presented Islam
as a rigid and violent way of life. He stated that Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad
Tahir-ul-Qadri is the only towering religious scholar who purified Islam from narrow-mindedness
and extremism and presented the noble character and blessed life of the Holy Prophet
ﷺ in a highly appealing and comprehensive manner.
Khurram Nawaz Gandapur further stated that Shaykh-ul-Islam’s services for the promotion
of knowledge and peace will remain an authoritative reference for centuries. Through
his character and practical efforts, he has also revived the thought of Allama Dr.
Muhammad Iqbal (RA) and Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah (RA).
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Principal of the College of Shariah and Islamic Sciences, Wing Commander (R) Abdul Ghaffar, said that the services rendered by Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri for the promotion of knowledge and peace are exemplary and worthy of emulation. He added that students studying in Minhaj-ul-Quran’s educational institutions develop an intrinsic love for Pakistan and Islam.
During the event, College of Shariah students Hafiz Bilal delivered a speech in Urdu, Umar Owaisi in Arabic, and Syed Talal Shah in English.
